What is Project 365?

One month ain't enough to learn about Black History, but currently in the United States many students only learn about Black History during the month of February. We believe everyone should know about Black History (which is really American history) all year long. Truthful history can be hard to digest, but without it, misinformation about people, events, and movements can spread which can be very dangerous, and uphold white supremacy and systems of oppression. Here in this space, we hope visitors will take action to be truth seekers and tellers. As the authors of the book Stamped (For Kids) Racism, Antiracism, and You state on page 7, "...knowing this history can help us move toward a better, more honest future. Every day."

Who is behind Project 365?

Project 365 started in 2022 by 5th grade students at Ellis Elementary in Denver, Colorado. Students research, write, create and design the content of this website, with some support from their teacher, Mrs. Aldern.
